A J Callan - Artist

A J Callan was born in 1958 in Glasgow. Growing up in the optimistic times of 1960's Britain he was exposed constantly to new ideas, fashions and sounds and it was at this time everybody was encouraged to let their imaginations run wild. From a young age A J Callan was passionate about art, he would spend hours sketching in his pad. He studied graphic design and fine art for five years then embarked on a career in advertising. He worked mainly on commercial projects and in his spare time continued with fine art practising with different mediums, subject matter and refining his techniques. It was in 2005 that he decided to commit to being a full time artist and in his own words , "it was a decision I have never regretted".
