Andre Pater - Artist

Born in Poland, Andre Pater studied at the Cracow Academy of Fine Arts. In 1981 he relocated to the United States where through Polish tradition he was involved in the breeding of Arabian horses. It was this involvement that inspired him to depict through painting this breed of horse. It was in 1998 after his move to Kentucky that his interest shifted from Arabian horses to Thoroughbreds. He has concentrated on painting the Thoroughbreds which dominate the racing tracks, sporting dogs, foxhunting, wildlife and cattle. In 2002 Mr William Farish (the American Ambassador in London) opened a major summer exhibition of which Andre Pater's work was the focus.
