Anna Knights - Artist

Growing up in rural West Sussex, nature has always been an inspiration to Anna Knights. Anna Knights work has immediate impact with the unusual compositions and closeness in which she vibrantly captures her botanical subjects. Anna studied history at university and her painting is entirely self taught. It was in 2006 that she began to paint botanical subjects in her spare time. In June 2006 Anna Knights submitted her work to the picture library associated with the Royal Horticultural Society. She was awarded with a bursary to help set up her first ever exhibtion as part of the BBC Gardener's World Live botanical art exhibition. Anna Knights received the 'Best in Show' and the RHS Gold medal for her first ever entry. As she had only begun botanical painting a year earlier this was a huge achievement.
