Barbara James - Artist

Barbera James studied in music, dance and drama at the Middlesex Polytechnic, it was throughout her studies that she realised her talent for art. Her tutors exposed and encouraged her to experiment with ideas, textiles and colour. After graduating she briefly went into working in television whilst continuing to paint. Barbera James was awarded as a finalist in the Artists and Illustrators magazine, a national competition. WHSmith chose one of her paintings to complement a series for their British Artists Card range, within the first year sold over 20,000. The American market has publicised seven of her paintings in poster format and she achieved the position of finalist in the London's Public Eye competition.
