Vibrant colours along with engaging or vulnerable figures are distinctive of her work. Her paintings express yearning and a range of human desires, they can be celebratory or disturbing and lonely. The environments in which she places her figures are often precarious. Carol Aust works from her home based studio in California and uses acrylic on wood panels or canvas to create her paintings.
