Dick Van Heerde - Artist

Dick Van Heerde was sorn in 1954 in the Netherlands, he began oil painting on canvas at the age of ten. He left school and entered into a three and a half year apprenticeship to learn the art of restoring paintings. He has restored some paintings dating back to the seventeenth century. He then went on to work freelance continuing in this profession. It was in 1989 that he developed a passion for wildlife and beautiful scenery on a trip to Tanzania. The inspiration for his work has always come from wildlife, animals and landscapes. His stunningly detailed works have been exhibited in Germany and Holland in very prestigious galleries. Dick Van Heerde's exceptional work was featured at the Swann Gallery and the Tryon Gallery as part of a major wildlife exhibition in 1997.
