Francis Farmar - Artist
Growing up in Surrey, Francis Farmar believes that he was a painter 'from birth'. In the 1960's he studies art, spending one year at St Martin's, six months in Italy and then three years in Bristol. After his studies he worked as an assistant at Christies auction house and then progressed to a Director of the Modern British Picture Department, he worked here for over 16 years. In 1996 Francis Farmar became a professional artist and paints one of the most beautiful areas in Britain, the Wiltshire-Dorset area. He has exhibited his paintings at the Royal College, the Solomon Gallery and many other prestigious galleries over the years.
