Gary Keane started his artistic training at the Hammersmith School of art. He embarked on a career as a freelance illustrator for various Fleet Street newspapers. He worked for over twenty years with the Daily Mail and Sunday Express producing 'the daily strip'. He joined a leading artists agent in the UK in which he undertook a variety of illustrative commissions including artwork for the book publishers Corgi and Penguin. He was at this time also receiving a lot of portrait commissions so decided to leave his agent and commit himself to painting full time. Gary Keane has now become one of the UK's leading sports artists and his commissioned limited edition sporting prints have enabled his recognition and success.
