Hamish Blakely - Artist

Hamish Blakely came from a largely theatrical background where drawing for him was the original expression. From a young age Hamish Blakely would copy other artists trying to work out how they created their works. His early years were spent drawing living only in the world of black and white. At the age of 18 Hamish Blakely created his very first painting, a portrait of his father. From his point on painting overtook drawing and replaced it completely. Hamish Blakely went on to study at the Wimbledon School of Art followed by Kingston University he drew again in his college years but again returned to painting after graduation. Shortly after college he went to work in illustration for which he received a National award, he now paints full time.
