Karen Wallis - Artist

Karen Wallis is inspired by the mystery, elegance and fluid lines of the female figure. Her paintings convey the innate tenderness and beauty of the female form. The narrative is imagined by the viewer through the abstract quality of her painting. Born in Middlesbrough she attended Teeside University and graduated with a BA Hons in Interior Design. She went into teaching, where she taught young children for over ten years which she felt was very rewarding. Karen Wallis had a family in this time and after her own children left to start their studies at university she decided to follow her love of art and painting into a full time career as an artist. Karen Wallis is inspired by the painters of the Pre-Raphaelite era, she has received lessons from Israel Zoher and admires greatly the work of Rossetti. She has exhibited her work in galleries and shows across the UK and has now branched out to the American and European market through an agent promoting her works. Several of her paintings have been published as limited edition prints and have all been well received.
