Kathryn Thomas - Artist

Kathyrn Thomas graduated from the University of the West of England with a BA Honours Degree in Fine Art. In 1992 she entered her work to the Laing Art Competition at the London Mall Galleries and was awarded Regional Winner. She also exhibited her work as part of the 'Just Art' Award Winners Show at the Barbican. Her work is held in many private collections worldwide, including Berlin, Florida, Sydney, the Channel Islands and London. Kathyrn Thomas has received numerous awards and commissions including, The Laing Art Calendar, The Royal Bank of Scotland and the Prince's Youth Business Trust. Her skyscapes are dramatic and atmospheric through her use of spectacular colour and detail . In her own words, "Through painting I attempt to create an image that seems different each time you look at it - whether this depends on your changing mood or perspective. Through this changing image I want you to be able to conjure an atmosphere or a feeling from your own experience, so it involves you."
