Leslie Stones - Artist

Leslie Stones grew up on several farms in the North Yorkshire countryside and there is a strong presence of the countryside influence in his work. Born in 1957, Leslie Stones began drawing and painting farm scenes, animals and the rural countryside around him from an early age. He left school and began working as a joiner for the building trade, following that a mining electrician and then as a telephone engineer. It was at this point Leslie Stones started to paint with oils as he has always used watercolours and exhibited and sold his paintings locally and then nationally. He committed himself to painting professionally in 1992 and exhibited his work in more prestigious galleries with the RSMA and the ROI. Leading fine art printers have published his work for calendars, art cards and fine art prints he has also licenced his work for a variety of product uses including ceramics and jigsaw puzzles. Leslie Stones has a number of collectors of his original oil paintings and limited edition prints.
