From the age of 16 Linda Jane Smith studied graphic design at the Bourneville College of Art. Her prefered media at this time was designer gouache, she sold work to he Stable Gallery in London and went about organising local exhibitions to promote her work. Before concentrating on painting and drawing full time she worked as a window dresser. Linda Jane Smith uses fine detail in her work and is particularly inspired by illustrators such as Nicola Bailey and Arthur Rackham who are artists of fine detail. She has had limited edition prints published and these are very popular in the UK and across the Atlantic. Linda Jane Smith's earlier prints are very popular and are sought after by collectors all over the world.
