Michael Barnfather - Artist

Michael Barnfather was born in Ilkeston in Derbyshire and is considered one of England's leading landscape painters. He attended the Derby College of Art and two years following embarked on a career with Rolls Royce as a technical artist. Michael Barnfather pursued his love for painting whilst working for Rolls Royce and was determined to pursue a career as an artist in his own right. He remained an amateur painter for nine years until 1964 when he felt confident enough to assume professional status. Michael Barnfather is a very talented artist, he spends a great deal of time studying his subjects and this detail is reflected in his work.
