Paul Kenton - Artist

Paul Kenton had a talent for art from a very early age and remembers always wanting to grow up to become an artist. He won his first prize aged twelve in a national colouring competition. He became proficient in watercolour throughout his teens and wanted to study at art college although went to study engineering at Stafford University and graduated with a bachelors degree. He continued to paint whilst working as a draughtsman for several years. In 1995 he made the decision to paint full time supported by a grant from the Princes Youth Business Trust. His earlier worldwide travels inspired much of his oil and acrylic works, from harbours and bridges to seascapes and cityscapes. Paul Kenton manages to capture the essence of a location through a fusion of various media.
