Penny Warden - Artist

By the age of twelve, the work of Penny Warden had been highly commended by the Royal Drawing Society in conjunction with the London based Children's Royal Academy. Despite various protests she decided not to follow an artistic career path. She studied at Westminster College in London and graduated in 1984 with a degree in Theology. She embarked on a teaching career, heading a religious studies department yet still continued to paint in her spare time. During the late 1990's she began a Fine Art Degree and decided to become a full time artist in 2001. Typical subject matter includes flowers, musical instruments and still life. Penny Warden's trademark is the sense of vibrancy and movement she has the ability to portray and this is especially evident in her oil paintings of ballet dancers.
