Sergio Mooro - Artist

Sergio Mooro studied at the Madrid College of Fine Art and graduated with an M.A. He moved to Geneva nd following hat Los Angeles working with art galleries. He moved to London in 1998 and worked with the Nicholas Treadwell Gallery. He decided to embark on a full time career in art in 1991 and remained in London. He has undertaken various commissions including a mural design for the Elm Street Surgery, the building received an award for the best new building in 1997. He also worked with the Hamburg City Ballet and the English National Ballet in conjunction with the Dance, Movement and Motion Project in 1996. The Cable and Wirless College in Coventry was awarded 'Building of the Year' in 1994 by the Sunday Times and the Royal Fine Art Commission for which Sergio Mooro designed and created the glass panels. Sergio Moore uses traditional methods but uses them in a different way from which they were originally formed. He uses an array of tools including tools and combs and applies pigment, paint and dyes with the tools which were designed for a completely different purpose. His work process involves a mix of different techniques, tools and materials.
