Shigeki Kuroda - Artist
Shigeki Kuroda was born in Yokohama in 1953 and attended Tokyo University of Fine Arts. It was in 1972 when Shigeki Kuroda began to make intaglio prints. He exhibited his etchings in the UK in 1979 at the Bradford International Print Biennial. Shigeki Kuroda is an internationally famed artist, his etchings with aquatint always include speeding bicyclists carrying umbrellas, his favourite subject. Shigeki Kuroda states that he uses only these images to 'express the change, flow and expanse of time in a pictorial dimension.
