Steven Brown - Artist

Steven Brown was born in 1963 in Ireland where he still lives and works today as an illustrator and artist. He was passionate about art from an early age and studied the subject to A level. He embarked on a career as a graphic designer for the following ten years where he designed CD covers, book jackets and magazine covers. He continued to paint in his spare time throughout his years as a graphic designer and in 1989 decided to embark on a freelance career in art and illustration. Following his decision in 1989 he has illustrated and designed the covers for many books on Irish mythology and folklore as well as illustrating many short stories. Steven Brown is a predominantly figurative painter inspired by the Pre-Raphaelite painters of the Victorian Era. His work encompasses the mediums used in this era such as watercolour, acrylic, pen and ink and pastel. Steven Brown continues to exhibit his work and has held two solo exhibitions at the Riverside Theatre and Flowerfield.
