Tom La Fontaine - Artist

Tom La Fontaine paints predominantly equine and figurative portraits and has a long an illustrious career. Throughout the war he undertook mainly commercial work and after the war had ended he returned to commissioned painting. His very first exhibition was in 1962 at Ackermans followed by joint exhibitions with Peter Howell in 1966 and 1972. The work of Tom La Fontaine has often been compared to the works of Sir Alfred Munnings. His work is highly collectable and many of his original works hang in prestigious French, Belgium and US collections.
