Austin Moseley - Sculpture

Austin Moseley was born in 1930 in Staffordshire. He left school and embarked on a career as a Chartered Mechanical Engineer and worked in this industry for some time. Following this he worked at the University of Wolverhampton as a senior lecturer until he retired. Austin Moseley has painted for many years and was elected as a member of the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists, he has also exhibited here as well as at the Royal Institute of Painters in Oil. Austin Moseley uses thick impasto paint which he applies onto canvas with a palette knife. This technique portrays his subjects with a slight abstract quality. His textured, craggy paintings of Britain portray the subjects within them with humorous affection.
