Charlotte Atkinson - Sculpture

Charlotte Atkinson born in the town of Plymouth in 1973, surrounded by water from a young age has always been facinated by the sea. The inspiration of the sea is clearly visible in a semi abstract way within many of her works.She studied to gain a qualification in illustration through the Hereford College of Art and at the University of Derby. After her studies, Charlotte moved to Scotland partly due to her love of coastal regions where at a rural centre for arts she was invited to become the artist in residence. Charlotte Atkinson's works mainly in mixed media, exploring the energy of colour and its emotional effects through combining pastels, oils and inks. Charlotte Atkinson was awarded with the title of 'Artist Exhibition Winner' in 2000 by the Fine Arts Trade Guild. Her works sold out within a couple of weeks after being published as a series of limited edition prints.
