Doug Hyde - Sculpture

At an early age Doug Hyde became aware of his artistic abilities.He concentrated mainly on the technical aspect of painting drawing throughout his college education. He was in no doubt aware that his career was to be that of a professional artist after graduation. Doug Hyde prefers to work on a large scale in plenty of open space thus not limiting his physical freedom to express his creative energy.His highly communicative and distinctive use of pastels make an immediate and lasting impression on the viewer. The inspiration behind his heart warming images are people and events in his life and his own emotional responses to life. In 1995 Doug Hyde was awarded the title of 'Best Selling Artist at the Fine Art Trade Guild and achieved the title of 'The most popular living artist in the UK' by BBC TV National News. His unique original works in pastel have become genuine collectors' items.
