Jonathan Shaw - Sculpture

Jonathan Shaw was destined to follow in the footsteps of his father. Born in 1959 in Leeds, Jonathan spent his early years watching his father, a professional painter, at work. His first creative job was an interior designer, although knew that this was not the right vocation for him. He set off travelling and financed himself by selling his work along the way. Selling his work gave Jonathan the confidence he needed and he returned to the UK to open a gallery. Six years was spend working in the gallery and it was then that Jonathan Shaw dedicated himself to painting professionally. He has adopted new methods into his work along the way such as a spontaneous 'free' painting technique. His favourite subjects are the exotic skies and tropical seas seen throughout his travels. Jonathan Shaw was shortlisted by the Fine Art Trade Guild in 2003 for the Best Up and Coming Artist award.
