Lorenzo Quinn - Sculpture

After starting out as a painter in 1982, Lorenzo Quinn soon moved to sculpture as he felt that a dimension was missing from the work he was producing at the time. Lorenzo had a need to create and found this an ideal medium to convey his feelings. After a written brief the sculpture is born and also poem, the two are works of art together and part of the development process of the piece. With a commission from the Vatican to produce a sculpture of Saint Anthony, for the commemoration of the Eight Centennial of the Saints birth, the work was blessed by the Holy Father in Saint Peters Square and now resides in the Basilica del Santo in Padua.
