Sarah Jane Szikora - Sculpture

Sarah Jane Szikora studied photography, sculpture and graphics within a foundation course at Harrogate College of Art. After Harrogate, Sarah Jane Szikora went onto study illustration at the Cleveland College of Art. It was at this college where she took a particular interest in the human form which is the basis of the extreme figures seen in her posters, paintings and prints. Sarah Jane Szikora took frequent trips to Hungary (her fathers native country) and it was here that she was exposed to the larger than life ladies whom have influenced the characters seen in her work today. Inspired by artists such as Stanley Spencer, Renee Magritte and Michael Sowa's surrealist paintings, other influences include interior design, television and film which she states 'keep my paintings fresh'. Sarah Jane Szikora has had her work exhibited in a veriety of different venues over the last four years and has had much of her work published in the form of limited edition prints.
